Why use directional boring?
The process is used for installing telecommunications & power cable conduits, water lines, sewer lines, gas lines, oil lines, product pipelines and environmental remediation casings. It is used for crossing waterways, roadways, shore approaches, congested areas, environmentally sensitive areas and any area where other methods are more expensive.
For example, underground lines and conduit can be installed using MAson’s HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling) services. This process uses drilling technology to bore a small hole from one location to the next. Once the drill rod comes to the end of the bore the new pipe is attached and pulled back eliminating open excavation. This technology can be used to install lines and conduit under roads, railroads, ponds, lakes, streams, industrial buildings, etc. without the impact of open excavation.
Some of the benefits of our Directional Drilling are:
• Reduces traffic disruption
• Provides a lower cost solution
• Can provide a deeper pipe installation
• Can faciliate a Longer installation
• An access pit is not required
• Has directional capabilities
• Better for the environment
